The founder

Glenn Meija

“As a school-based occupational therapist practicing in San Diego, CA for over 23 years, I’ve had the honor to provide therapy to students with various disabilities including Autism, Down Syndrome, ADD, cerebral palsy, low vision as well as other developmental and learning disabilities. I've worked with pre-school and elementary school-aged children, but much of my experience is working with students in middle, high and post-high school programs. I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from Long Beach State University and received a Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from one of the top programs in the nation, the University of Southern California. Although the bulk of my professional experience is in schools, I’ve also worked with adults in hospitals, skilled nursing facilities and home health. I have two children, a son who is 26 and a daughter, 18. I identify as an HSP (highly sensitive person), I support the LGBTQ community, neuro-diversity and trauma-informed care. In my spare time, I enjoy cycling, hiking, meditation, art, succulent and cactus gardening, spending time with friends and family and I can never pass up a good taco.”

“Alone we can do so little;

together we can do so much”

— Helen Keller

“The Oak and Unity Program is ideal for parents who lack enough external resources – such as limited school-based Occupational Therapy and/or the inability to afford private providers – and want to help their child develop independent life skills”.

“We used the suggested process and charts that broke down incremental steps with our intellectually disabled teenager and were amazed at the results in just a few weeks. We came to realize he wasn’t cutting corners out of sheer laziness; he just could not remember so many sequential steps at once to fully clean up after himself. Now, he can properly make his bed, wipe down the sink area after brushing his teeth, adequately wash his own dishes and even fold and put away his own laundry. This program is a parent’s best friend she didn’t know she needed”.

“I’ve worked with Glenn for over ten years. He consistently proves himself to be professional, knowledgeable, innovative, creative, and effective as an occupational therapist”.

“His positive attitude and sense of humor allow him to connect with the students and staff. He has a natural way with children and they flourish under his direction and with his support”.

“Working with Glenn helped me become a better educator. He taught me how to successfully teach my students independence, life skills, and self-help skills. I look forward to using his product to best support my future students. After review, I can say that he created a quality, easy-to-use, and effective tool for the classroom and the home”.
